Sweet Shop Marketing using Facebook Ads - All Season Sales

Sales in sweets shops can be categorized into two types— Seasonal based sales and regular sales. Seasonal based sales occur during festive season along with many pre-booked orders too. This is the time when you get lots of orders. Regular sales are the sales that occurs on weekdays having average or sometimes, no number of sales.

Facebook is a very good and smart way to target both the types of sales. This can be done through Facebook Ads campaigns running through AdSense. However, before running any sort of campaigns, one must clearly understand the type of person to whom the ads should be displayed (means your targeted customers). Facebook brilliantly picks out the specific customers to whom the ads must be shown.

However, first of all,  create a persona of your customers. Note down the details of your customers like:

  • Their name

  • The specific days related to their family members, relatives and loved ones.

  • Reason behind purchasing

  • The sweets they like the most.

And so on.

Check the CCTV footage (if your store has) and note which customers come frequently and which comes on specific days or occasions. Provide the required information of these offline customers to Facebook first and it will target only the relevant customers only.

Facebook targets customers in three ways:

  • Interest Based Targeting— Targeting is done on the basis of the interests of the customers like brand, hobbies, movies, taste, etc.

  • Behavior Based Targeting— It is based upon the behavior, activities, or profession of the buyers. Click on that targeting options from which your customers belong.

  • Demographic based targeting— This gives statistical data and information of the customers and it is provided by the Facebook. This includes age, gender, locality, etc. This means if your customers are middle-aged, kids or elderly-aged,or youngsters, you can choose the age based targeting options. And likewise, for gender too. If your customers are ladies, you can prefer only ladies.

It is strongly suggested not to overstuff your ads with irrelevant information or making it displayed to unnecessary number of users. This will be expensive and useless. Make your “add friend” active. One must also check those profiles to remain updated about their special days. You can show them your new attractive packages, discounts, offers, or any newly made sweets.

To make your Facebook ads work potentially, there are two different perspective of showing the ads. You can either let your customers buy the sweets online from your website where you have to deliver the sweets at their doorstep. Or, let them collect the sweets from your store. However, for maintaining website your landing page, your call-to-action contents and everything related to the site must be well-optimized. On the other hand, you can also urge them to visit your store.

To pull your customers to your store through Facebook Ads, follow these below mentioned key points:

  • Incentivize your customers: Check your competitors and point out their weak points. Improve yourself in every terms and prove your business to be the best in front of your customers. Offer a free snacks item, or a sweet product, or introduce creative sweets like chocolate balls, etc., or sometimes offer better guarantee and quality assurance and so on. This attracts the attention of the customers.

  • Make your customers feel special— One can do this by offering the special discounts to the customers of specific region mentioning the name of the locality in the ads. For example, if your customers belong to Jawaharlal Nehru location, mention it as “Only for Jawaharlal Nehru people” and applying other such creative texts, offers, etc. This will make the local people feel special and they won’t like to miss the exclusive offers.

Create the fear of missing out— This can be done by mentioning the call-to-action terms like “ few stocks left”, “valid for few days”, “offers valid only for Holi” and  other such types of fomo (fear to miss out).
